Roadside Geology of Arizona: Author Presentation & Book Signing

Hit the road and discover the remarkable geology hiding in plain sight across Arizona! Join authors Stephen J. Reynolds and Julia K. Johnson for a lively, visual journey through our geologically spectacular state and the making of the entirely new Roadside Geology of Arizona.

Drawing on years spent traveling, photographing, and studying Arizona’s highways, as well as their own research into how people learn, Reynolds and Johnson created a uniquely visual guide designed to make geology accessible and engaging for everyone, from curious travelers to seasoned rockhounds. They’ll share the thinking behind the book and take us on virtual visits to some of their favorite places and geologic stories, with special attention to the Prescott, Mingus, and Mayer areas.
